As consumers become more environmentally aware, a new countertrend toward “sustainable fashion” has emerged over the past decade and consumers have begun to choose quality over quick. Among its core tenets is secondhand shopping, which follows the “reuse” component of long-standing sustainability philosophy, along with “reduce” and “recycle.” If people can find a high-quality product instead of opting for cheap, poorly-made products, they’ll clearly choose used and from this, a powerful transformation in retail will unfold.
